Silk Road
Mixed media including hash oil, kief and rolling papers on wood
61 cm x 61 cm (24 in x 24 in)
Silk Road was created from drugs. Thus, should the sale of the artwork have been made illegal? Shouldn't intent play a factor? Much like Ross Ulbricht's situation, the answer is nuanced. After all, I wasn't selling drugs for the sake of ingestion.
This work was meant to foster conversation around Ross' intentions in creating the Silk Road as I believe his sentence for building a free market experiment was unjust.
