The United Nodes of Bitcoin
The United Nodes of Bitcoin was the inspiration behind my @BTCvsFED billboard campaign which brought Bitcoin awareness to working class neighborhoods in each of the 12 Federal Reserve Bank cities.
The front of United Nodes was created in 2015 and proved a popular educational tool while on exhibit at my 2016 solo show The Revolution Will Not Be Centralized. Attendees gravitated toward the reimagined dollar iconography which bridged discussions about our broken financial system and this burgeoning movement.
After completing the back side of United Nodes, I wanted to once again use the artwork as a Bitcoin teaching tool, but go bigger. While formulating a plan, COVID struck resulting in quantitative easing on an unprecedented scale. This focused my efforts and @BTCvsFED was born. The billboards directed people to a thread detailing how endless money printing affects them personally via inflation and a growing wealth gap.
Once the campaign concluded, the billboard vinyl was repurposed into bags. Miniature versions of the billboards were also created to fund future activism.
